Ausangate trek tour itinerary 4 days in Cusco All Inclusive

This is the itinerary

DAY 1:

Day 1 of the tour begins with the pick-up of the tourist from the door of their hotel in the city of Cusco at 6 am. Aboard a tourist transport, the trip is made by road to the town of Tinki (2 hours 30 minutes).
In this town, visitors can buy some snacks, juices or drinks before the adventure. Along the way, they will appreciate the typical dress of the inhabitants of this picturesque place. Next, a new trip is undertaken in tourist transport, this time along dirt roads uphill to the base of the Upispampa camp (at 4,220 meters above sea level).
After breakfast, we continue our walk through rural communities and surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape. The walk takes us to the village of Upis. The route continues with ascending and descending paths until we reach the campsite where we will have the cabins ready to settle in.
At our camp in Upis we will enjoy a delicious tourist lunch prepared by our cooks. Optionally, we can take a hike uphill (2 hours round trip) to Upis Lake. There we will take beautiful photographs.
At the camp we will have afternoon tea with snacks and the beautiful view of the snowy Ausangate in the distance. Later we will have dinner prepared by the professional cooks who accompany us.
That day we will rest with our tents under the stars of the Andes Mountains. The distance of the walk is 10 kilometers on average.

DAY 2:

Day 2 of the tour begins at 6am with coca tea in our tents, to better adapt to the high mountain geography. Next, we will head to the camp dining room to enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast.
The hike then begins again uphill along high mountain paths until reaching the Arapa Pass, at about 4,968 meters above sea level. During the route, you can appreciate the lifestyle of the rural communities, who are dedicated to raising Andean camelids such as the alpaca and the llama. Also, always accompanied by a professional guide, you can look for the local flora and fauna with famous species such as the Andean condor or the vizcacha.
After reaching this high point near Ausangate, we will descend to the Puca Cocha camp. There we will stop to rest and enjoy a tourist lunch prepared by our chefs. Then we will have some free time where the guide will explain the importance of the mountains, considered sacred beings in the Andean worldview. We will be able to perform a ceremony of payment to the earth.
As evening falls, we will have a privileged view of the immense Ausangate snow-capped mountain, the highest in Cusco. We will set up tents inside thermal huts to keep us warm during the night. After the tourist dinner, we will rest at an altitude of 4,100 meters above sea level.
That day the walk is 10 kilometers on average.

DAY 3:

Day 3 of the tour begins with a coca tea and breakfast at around 6 a.m. Then, we will prepare for the most arduous hike of the tour, an uphill route until reaching the Puca Cocha pass, at an altitude of 5,051 meters above sea level. From there we will be closest to the Ausangate snow-capped mountain. From this point you have a view of all the mountain slopes, with the Red Valley, the impressive rainbow mountain (seen from a side point) and more.
After taking some beautiful photos, we will begin the descent to the Ananta camp where we will stop to enjoy our tourist lunch surrounded by wonderful scenery.
After lunch, we continue our ascent to the Warmi Saya Pass (at 4,500 meters above sea level). There we will see Vinicunca, the famous Mountain of 7 Colors, in the distance. However, we will leave that visit for the next day. After taking in these beautiful views, we will descend to the Cocha Kayrawiri lagoon, where the third and last camp for the night is set up.
At this camp we will enjoy a delicious dinner and then rest in a well-equipped tent next to an extraordinary landscape, far from the big cities.
That day the walk is approximately 10 kilometers.

DAY 4:

On the fourth and last day we will get up very early, at 5 am, to drink coca tea and take a box lunch breakfast to Vinicunca. There, at the famous Rainbow Mountain (located just 45 minutes away on foot) we will be the only privileged ones to be there so early and be able to see the sunrise at the second most visited tourist attraction in Cusco, only below Machu Picchu.
The professional tour guide will accompany us on this adventure and then we will head, about 30 minutes more on foot, to the famous Red Valley of Pitumarca. There we will appreciate a beautiful Andean landscape with mountain slopes of an intense eye color due to the presence of clay. It is a landscape similar to the planet Mars, the red planet.
After enjoying these beautiful landscapes we continue with a short walk to the Phulawasipata camp where we will make a journey to our next camp where we will enjoy a tourist lunch.
After this, the road trip continues towards the city of Cusco where the tour concludes with the transfer to the door of the tourist’s hotel at 5 in the afternoon.
That day the walk is 5 kilometers on average.
